It's Official - Microsoft Is Screwed

Is the next Office to be web based? Quote - "Microsoft is leaping into hosted applications big time. InformationWeek reports that Microsoft plans to offer hosted implementations of SharePoint, CRM and ERP applications. But the best quote in that article was left till last. A "Microsoft insider" was asked which other products and services Microsoft would host and the reply was: "Everything. Hosted Office. Everything hosted."" If the next Office is web based then Microsoft is screwed. It would be nice if it was just an added feature, but if everything is then they are so screwed. Why? You ask. Because you will not always have an internet connection. What if someone wants to work offline? Not to mention the fact that 47% of internet connection are still DIAL UP!
