Hotmail Will Not Accept Mail From Apple's Mail Client

Users of Mac OS X's Mail application are unable to successfully send messages to Hotmail users. No delivery failure notifications are sent. The only workaround so far is to carbon-copy someone else in the message when sending or switching to a different mail client. This just tics me off! It makes me want to dump my Windows box and go buy a Powerbook right this very moment!! I would if Apples weren't so darn expensive.
